Editing modes in Scribe

The different editing modes in Scribe

Written by Charles Brecque

Scribe is meant to be a collaborative editor which means that you can leave:

  • Comments

  • Requests

  • Flags

This article provides a step by step guide on how to create them and collaborate!

Scribe templates can't be published until all the comments, requests and flags have been resolved!

Edit mode and Request mode

Editing mode allows you to make live edits to your Scribe templates whereas request mode allows you to track edits and make suggestions or requests.

You can switch between the modes by clicking on the mode button between the publish and save buttons in the top left hand side of the ribbon.

Edits in request mode will be tracked on the right hand side and you can filter between open and closed requests.

A requester can't accept their own requests

In order to invite people to collaborate, click on the pen in the top right.

Comments

To leave a comment, simply highlight the portion of the text and the tool bar and enter your comment.

Comments are grouped under the comments tab.

You can switch between the comments, requests and flag tabs by clicking on the tab

Flags

A flag allows you to escalate an aspect of the draft to the rest of your team. Select the text which needs to be flagged and select the flag item in the tool bar. Flags are then grouped under the flags tab.
